Meet Dr. Smith

A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, Dr. Austin Smith, DDS, graduated in the top of his class from the Howard University Dental School. He is well respected and internationally known for his skills and professionalism as well as his engaging personality. He is a technician at the highest level and continues to perfect his skills by keeping up with current technological advancement in the profession. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics and the Dade Dental Society.

Born on the tropical island of Jamaica, Dr. Smith migrated to the United States over 20 years ago and has made it his home ever since. Having practiced and studied in several states including Washington D.C., New York (where he did his residency), Michigan and Ohio he finally settled in South Florida where he has been for the past 12 years.

Married with two young boys he is a dedicated husband and father and can often be seen watching his son playing soccer. A former undergrad college soccer player, he still has passion for the game and occasionally plays for recreation. He also holds a black belt in karate.

Dr. Smith has treated thousands of patients and all have left with fond memories and a beautiful smile on their faces.

We have custom designed our offices to aesthetically please all who enter through our doors and have implemented modern state-of-the-art equipment and digitization to ensure optimum function. We provide a comfortable atmosphere while you wait. Satellite television and video gaming equipment to occupy the little ones are also installed for your pleasure.

To ensure that your waiting time is diminutive, our newest locations are completely digitized with patient records stored on computers.  This eliminates the need for manually searching for patient files. We are equipped with virtual treatment tools to demonstrate proposed treatment to our patients.

In today’s world where people are more health conscious, our X-ray equipment is of the highest quality and uses only a fraction of the radiation that you would receive from a traditional X-ray unit. The images produced are of unparallel exactness and allows Dr. Smith to make the most accurate diagnosis and determination of each patient treatment needs. Every X-ray is taken without film and stored directly on the computer. This allows copies to be made by the touch of a button when needed by your general dentist or dental professional and reduces the need to retake images as they can be enhanced with the state of the art computer program utilized by the offices. Flat-screen monitors attached to each dental chair, allows access to all of the patient information at the touch of a button.
